Hello Autumn! Are you ready to fall? <3 Continue Reading
I love vegetables and I really love broccoli. I could eat broccoli every single day, that’s why, when I saw this recipe here, I couldn’t wait to try it. And so, finally, yesterday I cooked this Broccoli and almonds pasta. Instead of maccheroni, I used fresh homemade tagliatelle. Well, it was delicious! Very, very easy to make and so yummy! I’m sure your kids would love it, too (maybe without chili pepper). Continue Reading
I have to admit that one of the things I love doing most in winter time is baking. Everything. From pizza to pies…I love to spend time in the kitchen, mixing ingredients…I think this is so relaxing…and when the cake is in the oven, I usually wait sitting in the kitchen, sipping hot tea and crocheting. Yesterday I baked this yummy apple pie with hazlenuts and raisin. Apple pie, apple CAKE to be precise, is my favourite cake. Ever. I never get tired of it. I also love NY cheesecake, but no more than a piece (ok…a large piece!) I was going to have dinner at my mom’s and I was sure they would have appreciate it. The recipe is really simple and fast. Believe me…you’ll win the day!
– 2 cups of all purpose flour
– 1 tbsp baking powder
– 2 eggs
– 1 cup of butter
– 1 cup of milk
– 1/2 cup of brown sugar
– 2 tbp of honey
– 1/2 cup of crumbled hazelnuts
– 1/2 cup of raisin
– and, of course, APPLES. I used 4 medium.
First of all, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel apples and cut them into very thin slices. Put flour and baking powder into a bowl and reserve. Mix eggs and sugar until they’re soft and frothy. Add honey and milk and mix. Add to flour. Chop the butter to small pieces and add. Mix very very well! You’re now ready to add all the sliced apples, hazelnuts and raisin (reserve a spoon of hazelnuts for final touch!). Grease a pan and pour batter in it. Now take the hazelnuts you saved before (did you saved, right?) and gently spread them on the batter. Bake for 30/40 minutes (test it with a wooden stick, if it comes out clean, it’s done!)
So, while the cake was baking, I made this cute candle crochet cozy in white with a red ribbon, I’ve been inspired by an empty Bonne Maman jar. Isn’t it just lovely?
